Who we are
PMG Trading EG was founded in Cairo in 2024 by Peter Maher Gerges, an international trade consultant working in steel materials and industrial machinery. The company serves industrial buyers who need more than a price list: manufacturers deciding which grade actually suits their process, fabricators sizing a machine to a real production load, and contractors who need a specification confirmed before an order is placed.
Every enquiry is treated as a technical file. We identify what is missing from the requirement, confirm it against manufacturer data, and only then approach suppliers. The result is a request for quotation that mills and machinery makers can answer accurately the first time — which is what shortens lead times and prevents the wrong material arriving at a site.
What we do not do: we do not quote capacities we have not verified, and we do not present a supplier as suitable before the technical requirement is confirmed. Where a specification is still open, we say so.
What we do
The business runs on two parallel lines. Many clients use both — material for production, and the equipment that processes it.
Flat and long steel products sourced from international mills and delivered to Egyptian manufacturers, sandwich panel producers, steel fabricators and EPC contractors.
Fabrication equipment selected around the client's process — the material, profile, operation and production target come first, then the machine.
Supplier network
Our working supplier database covers more than 140 mills, machinery manufacturers and component makers across over 15 countries, with the highest concentration in Turkey, China, Italy, Germany, Spain and Portugal.

How we work
Each stage has a defined output, so the buyer can always see what is confirmed, what is still open, and what happens next.
Capture the application, grade, dimensions, quantity, delivery point, target date and any available drawings.
Identify missing dimensions, standards and operating conditions, and confirm them against manufacturer data.
Compare the relevant sourcing or equipment routes against the confirmed requirement, with the trade-offs stated.
Issue a structured RFQ to qualified mills or manufacturers, then compare pricing, lead times and commercial terms.
Track production, documentation, shipping and port clearance through to site. Support continues after arrival.

Peter works directly on every technical file. His background covers steel trading — coated and flat-rolled coil, structural sections and fasteners — alongside representation of international machinery manufacturers in cutting, forming, roll forming and welding. He handles enquiries personally in Arabic and English, from the first specification question through to delivery on site.
